Dog a hog (Richmond) 2005
Richard, Bitch and good sized boar (for the downs) that they caught one afternoon. Actually we caught 4 pigs on this particular afternoon. We must have driven past this fella three times that day on the road but it wasn't until Richard came along the drain right on sunset that he popped his head out. Bitch took a dive into the swamp and out the other side to catch him. We got the other three pigs not far from each other on the one gully with a few holes of water along it.
Bitch and I on the hunt along the drain, taken on the same afternoon as the previous photo. Hairless boar caught off a swamp near Mt Garnet Good rakers on this bloke This sow made it to the tree before Bitch got hold. Boof had already caught another sow that was with her and run on to help Bitch. The sows were feeding out of the weaners molasses troughs, 2005. The sow standing her ground. A mob feeds out on a swamp, no dogs meant they were left in peace. A sow caught near a bore tank. Bitch was still learning at this stage and was a good experience for her. The sow backed up against the tank. 9 months old in the photo. They were bred by Bud over Troppo, a bitch from the South Burnett area. Caught on the downs in 2005 6 pigs caught on the downs. 2nd trip out on this particular property. This barra was trying to hide in some roley poley bush that was caught against a fence. Richard drove the ute right up beside him without him even moving a muscle. Bud just had to jump off and hang on. A good sized pig for the downs. All these pigs were caught using bailers (comp rules) but a good time was had by all. This was one of the smaller loads, but can only be improved upon this year.
