Keith H - THE LOSS OF A TRUE MATE! About 5
years ago I had a true hunting mate Wayne ,we used to hunt cane all
year and once a year we'd go hunting out west for a week.
He was the type of bloke that would give you the shirt off
his back and you always could trust that he would have your back in
any type of trouble. Our last trip was our normal weeks trip to
Longreach, we got home on the Tuesday and he died on the Friday .The
type of mate he was left a big void like losing a brother ,since
then I've only hunted a couple of times but it was never the same
.I've just decided to start again since my nephew asked if I could
take him out west. My biggest regret is I never got enough photo's
of us together or by himself as we had a lot of great trips together
.When we were on our trips out west the days would be filled with
hunting ,the nights would be by the fire with rum & port (as it was
very cold) ,music and talking a lot of shit till the wee hours then
it would be on again the next day. So to
all the hunting mates out there get the photo's and the memories as
you never know what could happen to that true mate at any time.
